ESC has gained ISO 28000 with ISO PAS 28007 accredited certification
ESC Global Security has proven conformant to the demands of ISO 28000:2007 with ISO PAS 28007:2012 and accredited certification is granted by MSS Global, certification body accredited by UKAS.
The scope of the security management system audited is "The planning, management and delivery of armed and unarmed security solutions to the maritime industry within the High Risk Area of the wider Indian Ocean".
"Gained ISO certificate proves that ESC is amongst the top leaders of maritime anti-piracy security service providers. It also provides assurance to our clients that services offered by ESC Global Security are in line with the highest standards that regulate the maritime security industry", says Jaanus Rahumägi, CEO of ESC Global Security. "Getting the ISO 28007 accreditation demonstrates the ability to deliver and ensure the customer’s security by reducing the risks and enhancing credibility."
ISO 28000 is the security management system; ISO PAS 28007 is the internationally recognized standard supporting the private maritime security companies. The ISO PAS 28007 standard gives established guidelines to private maritime security companies that supply privately contracted armed security personnel on board ships. Certification to these standards demonstrates to the international community that the company, and their operatives, can legally, safely and effectively guard shipping.
The ISO PAS 28007 is backed by major international corporations and intelligence and law enforcement agencies such as the IMO, INTERPOL, the European Commission, the Contact Group established by the UN Security Council Resolution 1851 and the UK appointed SCEG (Security in Complex Environments Group).
