As of 18th of October 2013, ESC complies with the requirements of The Protection of Cyprus Ships Against Acts of Piracy and Other Unlawful Acts Law of 2012.

As a result and subject to compliance with the provisions of the Law, ESC Global Security is now allowed to implement additional security measures on board Cyprus ships.
ESC is allowed:

to embark on, transport by and disembark from Cyprus ships the private ship security guards;
to load, transport by, and unload from Cyprus ships the firearms and special security equipment;
to permit the private ship security guards to use firearms and special security equipment when Cyprus ships are transiting high-risk areas.

The license application was co-financed by European Regional Development Fund.
